Guardians seek to get involved in the salary bill

Justice system employees, especially those of the Correcting Service, are feeling discriminated against by the new wage bill, since over 1,000 and 700 workers are not involved in the bill. In this case, it is about the guards of the Dubrava prison, which has oversight of the Correcting Service.
Disillusioned with this is the chairman of the Kosovo Correcting Service Union, Zenun Sadiki, who says that despite the fact that they have repeatedly submitted their demands, nothing has been done to improve their position.
In an interview for Kosovo Press, Sadiki has unveiled some of the main demands of this union.
“Set the main requirements is the Corresponding Service Law, where we have had a promise from former Prime Minister Hajredin Kuci, who has so far not been made and, in our opinion, very little has been made in this direction. A second and most important requirement is that we corrective service are not involved in the wage law, that means everyone is involved, the police, The KSF, customs, firefighters and others, we are not even included”, he said.
On the other hand, he says it is unacceptable to be civilian staff, not uniform staff.
After the Ministry of Public Services, it turns out we're not even a uniformed staff, but we're civilian staff. According to us, it is acceptable that we be civilian staff, not uniform. Thus, there has become an unjust to the Correcting Service, so we are angry and have made requests in writing”, he stressed.
In his view, along with the recognition of employees of this service, the retirement age of the guards should be adjusted as uniform staff.
It turns out that the retirement age turns out to be 55 years like the police are envisioned, and how is the KSF at the moment? I want to inform you that the average age of corrective service is 48-49 years. So, the staff is old and I can't do my homework at the Correcting Service... At the Dubrava Correctional Service Centre, that 10 years no one has been accepted as a new worker, and over 190 people have released, died, or suspended, and no new workers have been accepted, evidence that the staff is really very old”, Sadiku said.
Sadaj adds that the Correcting Service faces a host of problems, despite their reporting to relevant institutions.
There are a lot of problems in the correctional service, which we union have been trying to reduce or improve, but we haven't. Our problems include senior officials, such as the Ministry, the Central Directorate and our Directorate here in Dubrava”, he told Kosovas.
All in the end, Sadiki said they are making constant efforts to solve problems in this institution as soon as possible. But it adds that so far they have failed to solve current problems.
