Former prime minister and former VMRO-rider DPMNE, Nikola Gruevski has been notified by Budapest.
He has made this known through his Facebook account, where he wrote: the last “Days I've accepted a large number of life threats. I am in Budapest now, and I have sought political asylum from Hungarian authorities. I will always remain loyal to the cause for Macedonia”, Gruevski has written on his profile.
He is known for his ties to Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban, who had been visiting Budapest months earlier, but was unable because of the seizure of the passport by judicial organs. But the question is what passport he escaped with.
As INA learns from close party sources, he allegedly owns Bulgarian passports, but doubts are about the Serbian passport, since he was a former adviser to the government of Serbia prior to his coming to power in 2006.
Gruevski was on the run by police after the warrant issued for serving a two-year prison sentence for a corrupt case and misuse of office.
