Greek police clashed with demonstrators in central Athens, where thousands gathered to commemorate the anniversary of violent protests in 1973, after which a military junta fell from power.
About 10,000 people took to the streets reportedly protested near the American Embassy, Reuters reports.
The clashes erupted after the march ended, and some demonstrators shot police with stones and Molotov cocktails. The US flag was burned by Greeks. Anarchists also burned their flag.
