German Internal Security Service head Hans-Georg Massen will have to retire early because of political speeches he delivered “behind closed doors”, German media reports.
He is accused of criticising the left-wing governing policy, calling it “naive”, while declaring he was thinking of entering politics.
German Interior Minister Horst Seehofer noted that Massen “'s speech made the relationship of trust between them impossible”.
The leaders of the ruling coalition in Germany had earlier reached an agreement to make Massen “special adviser” at the Interior Ministry for “European and international issue”, Kosovo Press broadcasts.
Massen, in a farewell speech, criticised the left-wing radical forces in the Social Democrat Party, so Interior Minister Horst Seehofer was considering the possibility to dismiss or retire.
Interior Ministry spokesman Seren Schmidt said today that the Massen comments are “under observation” and that Seehofer will issue the necessary “conclusions”.
