U.S. State Department Justice Minister

During the meeting, Tahiri has spoken of the commitment of rule institutions and law in Kosovo to fight organised crime and trafficking narcotics.

It has also unveiled the results achieved in the area of international judicial co-operation, results that, according to him, have contributed to increased security and to strengthening Kosovo's position on the regional and global partnership level in the fight against organised crime.

Tahiri has estimated that Kosovo every day is consolidating its position in the regional and wider order in the fight against narcotics, radicalism and violent extremism.

During the meeting, the minister of justice has unveiled the pre-arrange targets and measures in the Agency “Justice 2020” in which measures for modernising the Correcting Service and developing programmes for rehabilitation and re-socialisation of convicted persons, with what cases has called for expanding support from the Anti-Morcotics Office and the Issues for Strengthening Law.

He has thanked Andrews for supporting the State Department with special emphasis through OPDAT and ICITAP programmes that are engaged in the legislative programme and in empowering the Kosovo Correcting Service.

Minister Tahiri has held a meeting with the Director of the Office for Central and South European Affairs under the State Department, Ms. Susan Falatko, with whom they have talked about political developments in the Republic of Kosovo, as well as institutional reforms in the rule of law sector.
