The organisation “Lettés Do It Kosova” has continued the cleaning action in the village of Dobreva of the municipality of Fush-Kosovo, the Online Economy reports.
Luan Hasanaj, executive director of Leté Dot Kosova, said that with the end of action “Clearing Kosovo”, on 15 December, will be the primary focus of monitoring and fineping those who throw trash.
He has said, however, that the main problem is road belts. He has appealed to punish those who waste.
The majority of the remaining warehouses are mostly with construction waste and our focus as long as it's left, it's going to be the road belt, because we have piles of debris that are near the road belts, created by irresponsible builders”.
The “appeals to municipalities and inspectors, mostly police, to try to fine those who are polluting Kosovo. There are 85 left in the road belt and these will be cleaned very quickly, but the main challenge is how to keep these spaces from coming back. The problem lies with an irresponsible community of builders who don't take their construction remains to designated locations but throw them through the publicspace”.
Besmir Cocolari, co-ordinator of the MMPH Task-Forca technical group for environmental cleanup, has appealed that builders use certain waste dumps and not hunting in public places.
And we certainly have had our objectives and, in full sense, can say that these activities have surpassed our goals, considering that even during weekends we have seen that they have the will to join this campaign only to have a clean environment for the entire territory of the Republic of Kosovo”.
We appeal to all the builders to exploit those locations and drop the waste into those designated locations, because you see it here today, it's really pathetic and this view of the environment”.
Cocolar has said there has been a decision in past Government to create a legal depot in Fushe Kosovo, but he said this time remains from the Communist Assembly to decide what will happen to it, EO reports.
The “has been the government's decision to create a warehouse in Kosovo Fusha, but the depot, which will be by standards for creating a depot. There have been voices and concerns about this, but it has also been discussed at the Kosovo Municipal Assembly and we will see developments on how to deal with this depot under the legislation in power”.
