Special Chief Prosecutor Jack Smith has visited Kosovo for the first time Tuesday, where he met with Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, with other officials of this ministry, as well as with international representatives.
A day after Smith's visit to Kosovo, officials of the Specialised Prosecutor have confirmed to the newspaper “Zeri” that their chief is focused on implementing his mandate quickly, hinting that he will not delay the raising of the first charges by this justice institution.
“Z. Smith visited Kosovo to meet with Justice Minister Abelard Tahiri, with other officials at the Ministry of Justice and with international officials. He is focused on implementing his mandate quickly. Meanwhile, we do not comment on the possible time of raising charges”, says in a response to “Zerin” by Christopher Bennett, spokesman for the Specialised Prosecutor.
