This decision, taken amid the growing concern of dependence on sports bets and game of luck, is expected to be implemented at the start of Premier League's upcoming 2019 season.
During the match break, up to four company betting ads currently appear.
Limiting lucky game advertising will not apply only to “Sky”, but also other channels that will buy the transmission rights of sports events generated by “Sky”
British sports bets account for about 200 million pounds annually from television advertising and from these “Sky” controls almost half the market. But, the British television giant's self-imponsive restriction is expected to cost the latter tens of millions of pounds a year.
“Sky” will enable its viewers since 2020 to manually exclude lucky game ads from this platform.
