Auditor finds irregularities in financing of Blerina Klokoqi- Rugova's studio

The National Auditing Office has reported that the MKRS had supported the “Dardania” project in value of $6,000 in the absence of the project's planning and reasonableness and that the activity accomplished had a business character.

Explaining the issue, Veton Firzi secretary-general in the Ministry of Culture has said the MKRS Commission for Selecting Projects has considered that the Dardania” project is important for promoting culture in the country and, according to him, has prompted the MKRS to support this project.

The Dardania Collection has to do with a sculpture of designer Blerina Kllokoti- Rugova, who has organised the slide and ad hoc commission of MKRS for the assessment of NGO or individuals' demands has estimated that this project deserves to be supported at the value of 60,000 euros and has not concluded that it has business issues, but it has been praised as cultural value and we have backed”, MKRS Secretary-General Veton Firzi said of KALLXO.com.

But, the National Auditing Office in its report about the MKRS financial mirrors for 2017 has concluded that the MKRS had supported the “Dardania” project, worth $6,000, in the absence of the project plan and reason.

“The tools for this project were poured into private accounts and the purpose of subsidy is unknown because the activity accomplished had a business character. This was contrary to the internal provision of subsidies, which specifys the subjects that the MKRS has the right to subvention”, is said in the ZKA report, on the 15th issue, subjecting business-type events.

Blerina Klokoqi- Rugova said the procedures have been in order and that this kind of funding from the MKRS now takes 10 years.

She added that the reason why her films are financed by this ministry is because they are culturally character and are profitable.

“99% of them do not sell”, Blerina Klokoqi-Rugova added.

She also stressed that to receive this financial support from the ministry, there has been no impact on the fact that it is the cloud of the late president, Ibrahim Rugova.
