Otherwise, Macedonia's Assembly failed to receive MP mandate and former Prime Minister Nikola Gruevski, sentenced to two years in prison for abuse of official office.
In lifting the mandate, 58 MPs voted, while against 29 VMRO deputies. To obtain the mandate, 80 deputies or two-thirds of the deputies had to vote.
The initiative was presented to the Commission on mandate cases following the announcement that Parliament had received from the court for Nikola Gruevski's sentence of two years in prison.
