“Action was made about the scope of the Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning and was completed with cleaning up spaces around the Pristina stadium. In today's action, dozens of volunteers collected about 100 sacks of waste. The bags were three colors, in which uncivilized waste, plastic and metals” were distributed, says the communique.
In addition to the dozens of volunteers at Leté Do It Kosova, officials of the Swedish Embassy, MMPH officials, players and fans of the Pristina Club participated in the action.
Let's Do It Kosova Executive Director Luan Hasanaj has talked about the co-operation they had with the Swedish Embassy about today's activity.
“Today it is a bit more innovative activity, along with the Swedish Embassy, the MMPH and many volunteers. We will continue until citizens are aware that they should not waste away as they usually do on this road. The idea came from the Swedish Embassy's request. These guys have regular activity with their staff, but when they saw our campaign, they contacted us and expressed their desire to join us and make a slightly larger activity”, Hasanaj said.
On the other hand, Sweden's ambassador to Kosovo, Karin Hernmarck Ahliny during today's action, has delivered some messages to Kosovars.
It's a way to do exercise, when you see a waste on the ground, you take it and put it in your bag, and you do exercise. It's good for you, but it's also good for your environment. This is your home and you feel happier when your house is cleaner. Think about your weight, reduce your weight, and take care of your weight”, the Swedish ambassador said.
Task Force Technical Group Co-ordinator under MMPH Besmir Cocolari said youth participation in these activities is a model for others.
Today's “Youth that is joining in such activities to clean Kosovo up is a model for others to refer to how such a large initiative has been achieved, to turn our attention to both the ministry and the government, the business community and all young people”, Cocolar has said.
Let's Do Kosovo also announces that activities are continuing under the largest campaign in the country “Clear Kosovo”, which started on September 15th while continuing until December 15th.
