“Zbuten” Dukagjin veterans

Veterans from the Dukagjini region days earlier had protested before the Court of Justice in Pristina in defense of the values of war and the dignity of the KLA fighters, where they had warned that unless their demands are met by tomorrow, they would organise non-peaceful protests. Instead of protests, however, the days ahead [...]

Instead of protests, however, the following days they will take two actions.

The veterans of the Dukagjini region days ago filed three requests for the Constitutional Court to begin investigating who is the guilty who published, according to them, illegally personal records on veterans' lists, to dismiss the indictment for veterans, as well as the prosecution to apologise for undermining the integrity of war veterans, Kosovapress reports.

Annie why their demands would have to be met by October 8th, they through a media communiqué have announced that tomorrow they will send a letter to Chief Prosecutor Alexander Lumezi, where they will be asked how far the investigation into whitewashing of the guilty who published the <x0-secondal lists on media”.

As a second move, the OVL KLA offices in Dukagjin will be open to all fighters indiscriminately the area and brigades, where they will be supported by the drafting of the indictment for insulting dignity and illegal publishing of personal data.

The indictments, according to this branch, will begin from Thursday, October 11.

However, they have not ruled out the possibility of protests, where they have announced it will depend on communication they will have with the State Prosecutor and their readiness to reflect.

But their decisions are not even being supported by the center.

In a conversation with KosovoPress, O deputy chairman VL KLA, Nasim Haradinaj, has stressed that they will not support such protests, as he has called “regional and partisan”.

We do not support these local initiatives from the start at any moment. It is the War Veterans' Association that has representatives of these organisations, there they have not delegated representatives, and the Centre of the Steering Council has not supported these protests since the beginning. Never does a branch decide for the centre or for all of Kosovo whether to protest or not to protest is the Centre and Steering Council making those decisions, and much less we do not support local and regional initiatives”, Haradinaj said.

Regarding whether they will organise themselves as the Centre for any protest, he said they are not for ultimatum.

We've asked for responsibility from them what happened, and we're not an ultimatum. We don't give ultimatums and we don't support anyone in ultimatum. I believe that the Court and the relevant institutions are doing their jobs, I believe they will continue with”, Haradinaj added.

As for statements by the heads of state concerning the number of war veterans in Kosovo, Nesim Haradinaj said that from the beginning they have contradicted themselves, where they have mentioned figures that have varied.
