The Social Democrat Party will make a decision tomorrow regarding its participation in the meeting invited by Chief Parliamentary Kadri Veselin for opposition parties regarding the ruling coalition resolution on dialogue with the Serbian side in Brussels, with EU mediation.
The deputy leader of this party, Dukagjin Gorani, once again voiced PSD opposition to the resolution proposed by the ruling coalition, saying the decision for the negotiating team and the state platform for dialogue should be made in the Kosovo Assembly.
“does not have the privilege of drafting proposals with the approach take or let. The draft resolution proposed by President Wessel continues to take that very stance that is meaningless. The PSD reiterates its position that such an issue should certainly be resolved through democratic debate in the Republic Assembly. The joint negotiating platform should be parked there, and therefore the negotiating team” should be formed, Gorani said at a news conference.
He requested readiness by political parties for compromise as a condition for unity in dialogue with the Serb side, which are summed up as principles in the PSD resolution, which requires parliamentary supervision of the Pristina-Belgrade negotiation phase.
“The PSD continues to believe that its proposal remains a reasonable approach, which commemorates that the only solution to the sensitive problems in society is needed through involvement at the beginning of the process and not only through the invitation for participation as an act committed”, he said.
While Kosovo Parliament Speaker Kadri Veselini has invited opposition parties to a meeting Thursday over the ruling coalition resolution about dialogue, Gorani said the turnout decision would be made tomorrow.
We'll get the final answer tomorrow at the headship meeting. These are PSD positions based on the draft resolution delivered to the Assembly two months earlier. There is no way we can give up this. The PSD welcomes meeting efforts, but does not think that giving up principles of functioning of a democratic society is good at this social moment”, he said.
Gorani said PSD remains open for meetings, but draft resolution offered by the ruling coalition for dialogue with Serbia does not see the way to reach common compromise on this issue
