Thousands of citizens protested on 29 September 2018 in the protest organised by the Vetevendosje Movement, opposing President Hashim Thaci's policies in dialogue with Serbia and promotional commitments for changing borders.
Ismail Kurteshi, LVV deputy, has told “Zerin” that his party will again organise protests if Hashim Thaci does not relax from his latest initiative. “Hopefully, President Thaci and other institutions, including Government, have understood the message correctly and will not need to organise protests once again, but we will sit down and make it a common platform. If they continue with the old ava we will continue with protests”, Kurteshi said, adding that the next “projects will be even more massive”
Kurteshi, among other things, has said that if the request of most of Kosovo's citizens is not met, then his party will insist on new elections and also demand the president's resignation.
He's talking about the effect the latest protest has made.
“With the protest organised by us, which has been a widespread protest, I think that all citizens are pleased, but we as organisers are also, because it has come out a very clear message that has proved that Kosovo citizens will not be indifferent to those who have the courage to shop with Kosovo lands. Kosovo does not belong to a man or a political group, but it is to the citizens of Kosovo, and I believe the president, who had entered an adventure which for the country is very harmful”, has said.
