Vuciq: I'll talk to Eddie Rama.

Among the reports that Albania does not want Serbia to invest in its main telecommunications company, Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq said he would discuss the issue with Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama. The Serbian president said he will talk with his counterpart for the planned investment of Telekom Serbia: “I will talk to Rama today or tomorrow and hope to resolve this” situation.
The Declaration, Vucic, did so at a joint meeting with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Belgrade. The Serbian state-owned Telekom company in October confirmed its interest in buying Telekom Albania, currently owned by Deutsche Telekom.
Telekom Serbia would like to position the country as a regional leader in the telecommunication market in the region and has made an offer for the purchase of Telekom Albania, the Serbian company told BIRN. However, the possibility of a Serbian investment in Albanian telecommunication is not welcome. According to the Serbian president, rejecting the Serbian investment and money, Albania risks delivering a wrong message.
There are no such restrictions in our country. Anyone who wants to create a positive climate cannot make the difference between where the money comes from, whether it's Serbian or German”, said Vuciq, Tch.
According to the Serbian daily Danas, Telekom Serbia has offered 61m euros to Telekom Albania. Serbian Telecommunications Minister Rasim Lajic, meanwhile, said plans for investment in Albania were a good and logical move that speaks of the power and potential of an internal company aimed at becoming the telecommunications leader in the Balkans. According to him, the offer for the purchase of Telekom Albania does not mean that the Serbian state has given up plans to sell Telekom Serbia and that the agreement could boost its value.
The last seven years, the Serbian government has tried to privatise Telekom twice, but offers have been rejected by authorities.
