vetoer Surroi in a debate in Skopje has said 80 per cent of citizens in Kosovo oppose the idea of correction.
He said that 20 or 30 thousand more Albanians in Kosovo and 20 or 30 thousand more Serbs in Serbia will not change the situation.
Ethnic cleansing is fascism, and a peaceful ethnic cleansing would be only peaceful fascism.
When people start talking about borders, it means something has gone terribly wrong and it's not only in the case of Kosovo and Serbia, but we've heard about the borders as well as other parts of Europe when the refugee crisis started. In the case of Kosovo, there has been asymmetry of discussions with an individual discussing the borders with the state of Serbia or representatives of this state. It's wrong and the result will be wrong. 80 per cent of people in different polls have opposed the exchange of borders, and a high percentage of them are Kosovo Serbs. Nobody wants to wake up one day and be on the wrong side of the border. If you look at this, then it's clear that you need a new proposal”, Surroi said.
Surroi has made these statements in a debate in Skopje under the Skopje Civil Society Forum, 2018.
Macedonian Foreign Minister Nikola Dimitrov was also on the panel.
He has talked about the referendum, which failed to get the right majority last week.
Dimitrov has said parliament must decide to live the will of the people.
“Yhoma in the referendum was close to 37 percent, yet 609 thousand citizens said yes. That is the majority, and they want Macedonia to move forward. There are talks in Parliament. A historic decision precedes us. Our reality is that we cannot avoid the name dispute on the road to the EU and NATO. Parliament must decide whether to follow the will of the people. That's the key. If we want to go ahead, we need to use this key”, Dimitrov said.
Dimitrov has said early parliamentary elections in Macedonia are the last option.
