Undeserved Thaci in his bid for border correction

The change of borders, as an idea that was not new, but which was actualised by the negotiating table between the presidents of Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels, is estimated to be still fading without being seriously treated by the highest instances of two states and international relevans.
The European Union's High Representative, Federica Moghrini, as the main facilitator in dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, has not yet come up with a full extradition of this idea.
The presidents of both countries, based on their statements in recent days, no longer stand in the same positions as before over the border issue.
Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, has given the first signals that he too is leaving this option, saying he is not finding the support of the international factor.
After meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Serbian President Vuciq had declared that the issue of change of borders has nothing to talk about, since, according to him, the idea has been rejected by the European Union, as well as by Serbs and Albanians, in Serbia and Kosovo.
However, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci, on the other hand, still proposes that the change could take place during the demarcation phase of the border with Serbia, claiming it could make a border adjustment, with the involvement of three municipalities with the Albanian population in southern Serbia, Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc, within the Kosovo border.
But in Pristina, few who expect that a eventual change of the border could pass without tension and not include in exchange the northern part of Kosovo inhabited with the Serb population, so much of the political spectrum is not preferred at all as option.
In the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo, this party, led by Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj, say Haradinaj's response to the idea of changing the border was very clear.
AAK MP Ahmeti Isufi says Prime Minister Haradinaj has indicated this is an unacceptable idea.
The prime minister, more precisely than anyone else, says touching borders leads to war. I do not know what position or clearer position not only of Prime Minister Haradinaj's, but also of the party represented in the Kosovo Assembly”, says Isufi.
Change of borders or correction, the term which the president of Kosovo uses for the Democratic League of Kosovo is seen as dangerous and hasty.
LDK Parliamentary Group chief Avdullah Hoti says such an important process cannot be concluded with a Thaci-Vucinq agreement, because touching the border affects the Kosovo Declaration of Independence itself.
The correction of the borders is correction of the Declaration of Independence. No one in this country is willing to go that way. We believe that in this process we cannot enter alone. We can't say that you let us reach an agreement and then see if you'll agree or not to”, Hoti points out.
The claims of political parties in Kosovo, whether in power or in opposition, that the idea of restructuring or changing borders is dangerous, President Hashim Thaci has retaliated on several occasions, saying he is trying to respect the political will of the majority Albanian municipalities in Serbia, to join Kosovo.
Thaci has declared that he too opposes exchanging territories with Serbia or partitioning Kosovo, where it usually alludes to the northern part inhabited by the Serb majority.
There's a misunderstanding here. I only support the legitimate request of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanoc for co-operation with Kosovo, the legally binding agreement on the international level with Serbia, and mutual recognition”, Thaci has declared.
Political clashes with dialogue with Serbia, whether around the platform or even representation, have already paralysed the Kosovo Parliament, which is failing to hold regular plenary sessions due to a lack of quorum resulting from job boycott, whether by ruling parties or those in opposition. / REL
