US President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that his second meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is being planned, and that he thinks progress has been made “unbelievable” in state talks with an isolated country. “It's happening and we're working on setting up the second meeting with Kim Jong unx3>, Trump told reporters at the White House after announcing the US Ambassador to the United Nations, Nikki Haley.
He said Secretary of State Mike Pompeo had had very good conversations with Kim over the weekend, and that three or four countries are being considered for the next meeting with the North Korean leader.
Mike Pompeii echoed Trump's remarks when he spoke briefly to reporters during a visit to the White House Tuesday afternoon.
“While there is still a long road and a lot of work to be done, we can now see a way where we will achieve our final goal (ours), which is complete and final denociation, verified of North Korea”, Pompeo said.
Trump and Kim held a first historic summit in Singapore on June 12th, in which Kim pledged to work towards disunlearisation of the Korean peninsula. However, his actions have challenged Washington's demands for a full inventory of its weapons and facilities, and irreversible steps to give up the nuclear arsenal that could threaten the United States. /Top Channel
