When will the next Thaci-Vucciq meeting take place? Here's the EU's response

On 7 September, it was scheduled to hold a meeting in Brussels in the midst of Kosovo President Hashim Thaci and his Serbian counterpart, Aleksandar Vuciq, but that did not happen.

The reason for the failure to hold the meeting, according to the delegation's clarification from Serbia, was the lack of permission from Kosovo authorities that Serbian President Vuciq during his planned stay in Kosovo.

So the European Union's top representative, Federica Moghrini, has held only separate meetings with the two presidents.

After the meeting, it was said that by the end of September it would be discussed for the next meeting, but that did not happen. We are now in the second half of May October and have no date when the next meeting between the two presidents will be held.

As for the next meeting, when the two presidents are expected to hold it, in Brussels, the EU has not yet revealed that.

European Union for Foreign Policy High Representative Maja Kocijacic has said there is no date for the upcoming Thaci-Vucciq meeting so far.

According to her, the date and theme of the meeting set the parties involved.

“Time, country, agenda, dialogue format is decided by both sides. We'll announce the next meeting when it's confirmed”, says the Cocijac's response to news.net.

On the other hand, Kosovo President Hashim Thaci repeatedly reiterates his position that a compromise should be found with Serbia through peace for an agreement which, according to him, must result in recognition of Kosovo's independence on the part of the Serbian state.

Thaci also continues to repeat his idea of mending borders or exchanging territories between Kosovo and Serbia. The first of the state has stressed that it will propose in dialogue the issue of uniting the Presevo Valley with Kosovo, without even losing part of Kosovo's territory.
