A Spanish official said police have arrested 15 people in an anti-drug operation conducted in Malaga, where more than 5 tonnes of cocaine were seized, which was hidden in a banana shipment.
Members of the civil guard and national police participated in the operation, said an official seeking to remain anonymous, local media reports.
Tens of police cars were seen in an industrial park in Malaga, where the amount of drugs was found, witness told the local newspaper Diario Sur.
In April, in the Spanish port city of Algecira, nine tonnes of Colombian cocaine, a European record in the amount of drugs found in a container for transport, were also found in a shipment of bananas.
