Following the reconstruction of 3 existing social units and the first opening of 3 others, the capital has been added to a new mess in Unit No.7.
Tirana Mayor Erion Veliaj and the head of the Albanian Red Cross, Ylli Alushi, who together served lunch for the elderly and troubled economic people.
The mayor stressed that this mess will be another success story that will come to the aid of people in need.
It's a wonderful tradition and it proves what we've been saying for a long time: nobody has monopoly on aid, solidarity; of course the state has to do its own, the municipality also, but when everyone gets a share of the burden, everything gets easier. So I am now blessed, happy and very satisfied that this burden of aid in our communities is being shared with friends of the Red Cross”, Veliaj said.
In Tirana, 7 social units currently operate, where 800 people can receive service a day.
