The law in Morocco allows men to take up to four women, but as the Koran says, all must be done only with the consensus of other women.
In recent years divorce cases have multiplied just after women refuse to give permission to marry other women.
Mohammed Fizazi is a very well-known and wealthy sheik, who in the past has had some problems with the law.
He was sentenced to 30 years in prison in 2003 for radical Islamic militantism, but in 2011 he was pardoned by King Mohammed VI along with some fellow believers, becoming a fiery advocate of the monarchy at that time.
