Serbs, hopes on meeting Paris: Four world leaders will solve Kosovo's node

The Belgrade newspaper “Blic” writes that talks between Kosovo and Serbia will eventually be approached on 11 November in Paris, where the presidents of Serbia and Kosovo, Aleksandar Vuciq and Hashim Thaci, will be able to speak with the four most powerful leaders in the world. Symbolically, in the centennial of the signing of the ceasefire in World War I, the beginning of the path of sustainable reconciliation can be found by Serbs and Albanians, whose conflict story is longer than a century, writes the Serbian newspaper.
According to the newspaper in question, at the big meeting in Paris, in which more than 60 heads of state will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel, possibly even with Hashim Thaci, as well as with the presidents of the US and Russia, Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, sends out Telegrafi.
“Macron is most interested in successfully ending negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia by early next year. He wants to do this because there are many problems in France, so he needs great international success. While Chancellor Merkel would be more appropriate for the agreement between Belgrade and Pristina to be reached after spring and the elections for the European Parliament”, the Serbian newspaper quoted a source close to diplomatic circles.
Thaci's and Vuciqi's meeting with Chancellor Merkel and President Macron on November 11th has also warned Pristina Television Clan, which has speculated there is a great opportunity for the two to talk to Trump and Putin, who will take part in this event in Paris tomorrow.
On the other hand, officials from Serbia and Kosovo refuse to publicly acknowledge the importance of the Paris ceremony for resolving the Kosovo issue.
Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic says the fact that Vuciq and Thaci will be at the same event does not mean they will meet.
I don't believe that this is where it will be discussed on the Kosovo issue”, Dacciq said, conveys Telegrafi.
Thaci also said that during the visit and meetings to be held in Paris, there will be no discussion of dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia.
While Centre for Regionalisation Director Aleksandar Popov considers it not impossible for Vuciq and Thaci to meet with President Macron and Chancellor Merkel in the French capital on the Kosovo issue.
After a big meeting in which numerous state leaders will take part, the question is how much space will be for parts of work, what is far more realistic that meeting will be on the margins of the ceremony. Macron and Merkel as a European Union axis should present the general's position on what will happen to negotiations between Belgrade and Pristina”, Popov stressed.
