Xhaphaj's Message
After more than a year at the head of the Interior Ministry, by my own will, I have submitted my resignation to Prime Minister Edi Rama as Interior Minister, thanking him for his confidence in the appointment to this important task.
I came to this task for a difficult mission, served with passion, modesty, and devotion in the service of the State, the Law, and the Citizens.
Challenges have been enormous, but I am proud that at the head of a team of integrity and dedication at the Ministry of Interior and the State Police, we have been able to achieve very important successes in strengthening order and security in the country, some of them considered impossible for years.
I thank the whole team, my colleagues, my friends, and especially my family, as well as all those who valued me, believed and supported me throughout this period.
Heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for all those men and women in uniform did for all they did during this period in the war with crime and lawlessness.
A special thanks also to local and foreign partners, the local and international law enforcement agencies whose support has been a very important encouragement.
