Quoting government spokesman Eddy Jackson Alexis, the newspaper Le Nouvelist said hundreds of people were injured by this earthquake, which caused panic and felt throughout the country, broadcast Rtv21.tv.tv.
Seven people were killed in the northernmost part of the country of Nord-Oues, four others were killed in the town of Gros Morne, and about 100 people were taken to hospital in Port-de-Paix.
Last time Haiti was hit by an earthquake in 2010, it left more than 300 thousand people dead.
