Interior Minister Bejtush Gashi has proposed paying additional hours to the Kosovo Police.
Gashi presented this proposal at the Government meeting, where he indicated that until now they have tried to pay off the hours on vacation, but because of the accumulated many hours and the need for them to be on duty, this has been impossible.
For meeting police targets, Kosovo Police engage a large number of police officers. As a result, police officials have accumulated a large number of hours. Because of the budgetary burden, Kosovo police have no access to additional coverage and have seen compensation solutions, but have not found. They've accumulated about 2,000 hours for police officials. We're not able to compensate for these hours. We are in the final phase for compensation of these additional” hours, he said.
Finance Minister Bedri Hamza said he expects the ministry of the line to carry out the calculations and at one of the next meetings to carry out this obligation.
“We can compensate more than 40 extra hours a week”, he said.
