The Democratic League of Kosovo is aiming to overthrow Haradinaj Government in the same way as the government of Isa Mustaf lost its mandate on May 10th of last year.
The motion of vote of confidence is the way the LDK has chosen to express disappointment with the government cabinet led by AAK head Ramush Haradinaj.
At this point the LDK has the backing of the other opposition party Vetevendosje Movement.
LDK Deputy Chairman Agim Veliu has indicated that they are not far from the government's no-confidence motion in order for the country as soon as it is sent towards the elections.
It's a good mood for all LDK organs and mechanisms to work together towards the collapse of this government as soon as possible. We will certainly work with other political subjects in order to prepare a motion as soon as possible to lead the country towards elections because you know that the position of the Democratic League consistent about the beginning of the year is that the country is in crisis and political and institutional and”, Veliu said.
And while Veliu has shown optimism that he will find support for the collapse of the current government even by parties within the ruling coalition, such a thing denies Social Democrat Initiative officials.
The GP chief of this subject, Bilall the Sheriff ruled out such an opportunity for the Initiative's deputies to vote for the no-confidence motion, especially without receiving an official request from the Democratic League of Kosovo.
According to him, the Priory is the one who makes the decision whether to back up the motion or not.
“We cannot give positions on issues spoken in the media without an official request. We have no official request from the Democratic League of Kosovo, however, no Mr. Limaj. When the official request comes, he will receive the official response. I don't personally think it's time for early elections. I don't think we should interrupt the government's mandate. If the party leadership were to think differently tomorrow, of course I would obey the decision of Headship”, the Sheriff said.
But the other two opposition parties Vetevendosje and PSD do not seem interested in the LDK's motion.
These two parties that until yesterday were together fired charges against each other that they are not interested in bringing down Government.
PSD parliamentary group chief Dardan Sejdiu has told Kosova Preris that in this political background, it is only the Social Democrat Party that has it under way. According to him, others ' tendencies have electoral character.
He even had a recommendation on whom this question should be posed.
I think this question should be asked to other subjects. We are the only ones who have acted in this regard. We signed the signatures in early July. It means we, the PSD signatures we gave, the others didn't give signatures. This media battle to show that the PSD isn't about that, except it's a bullshit, it's a stupid argument. The only subject that has formally handed in the signatures for the collapse of the government is the PSD. Neither the LDK signed it, nor the VV, nor did anyone else sign it, which was also the pledge Alternatives have expressed their readiness to sign... No PSD initiative has been supported, although our initiatives have all been striking for Government and Presidency”, he said.
And these PSD charges have been answered by the Vetevendosje Movement. MP Albulen Haxhiu says they have repeatedly requested opposition co-operation for the collapse of the government, but has added it was precisely The PSD, which blocked co-operation, legalising Haradinaj Government.
As for the vote of confidence to bring down Government, it says they are in co-operation with the Democratic League of Kosovo.
“This is a joint co-operation between Vetevendosje and the LDK parliamentary group. But until the collapse of the Government, of course, other mechanisms should be undertaken within the Parliament. And one of the common mechanisms has been the failure of quorum within the Parliament. However, this opposition decision has not joined another group, such as the PSD. They went there to pay the quorum to Haradinaj Government and, of course, the Government by their votes passed the bills. I think there's gotta be a combination within the Parliament and outside the Assembly for the government's collapse requirement. I am convinced that Haradinaj Government has short days. But how it will come to the elections remains to be seen due to the circumstances in the country”, Haxhi said.
And this LDK attempt, AAK parliamentary group chief Ahmet Isufi is calling it an opposition game, as he has expressed confidence that neither the LDK nor the VV nor the PSD are really interested in going to the polls.
According to him, the government is on track to do all its jobs, and this approach of the opposition only divides the latter even more.
I think it's the opposition's game because it's very diverse because we're dealing with signature initiatives on the part of the PSD, which has been sent to two other opposition parties. On the other hand, we have motion motion motions from LDK, which is the same issue and also the Vetevendosje protest, which in fact all three are playing together... On the day they have the votes, let them laugh. It's the opposition's possible option always. But I see it's a game because they're not for choices either because they have problems inside their substance. They must once strengthen their parties, then try to tear down government”, says Isufi.
All opposition parties in the Assembly have 57 votes in all. While the opposition needs 61 votes to bring down Government.
