Night bars in Gjilan region, 16 arrested

Gjilan's regional police have announced that they have conducted raids in several nightclubs in this region, resulting in the arrest of 16 people.

According to police reports, the action involved trafficking human beings and identifying cases of such clubs.

The raid of several nightclubs in the Gjilan region

Based on the National Anti-Traffication Strategy and Action Plan 2015-2019, Plan and Objectives, Kosovo Police Units Against Trafficking in Human Being by the General Directorate, with the goal of combating all forms of human trafficking, October 23rd 2018 beginning at 10:45, in support of NJSO-Pristina, Units for Migration and Foreigns, Comunal-Gylan, ATK and Labour Inspectors, have continued with the Operational Plan <0> October 2018”

In this case, two locals have been searched: “Rolex” in the village of Bresalc, and “Adriatic” in the Gjilan-Kamenica magistrate, both in the municipality of Gjilan.

In these locals, people have been encountered and identified by working as singer/vaturist and instrumentist sixteen.

Of them five (5) citizens of the Republic of Albania, and eleven (11) citizens of the Republic of Kosovo.

During the legitimacy of persons at the “Adriatika”, to a citizen of the Republic of Kosovo, a cold-kipped weapon has been found, which has been seized by the police station's reaction unit in Gjilan, who have even prosecuted further on the case.

ATK inspectors/officials, to local owners due to irregularities and unwillingness to present the required documentation, will take adequate judicial measures in force.

Kosovo police will continue to be uncompetitive with all those in which any forms conflict with norms and laws in power.
