Kosovo police have continued today in Mitrovica with various activities campaigning “Dhuna does not reason”, aimed at prevention, awareness and awareness of domestic violence.
Police Director for the Mitrovica region Aferdita Miclovci said domestic violence and society is very complicated, sensitive and very harmful.
It is a shame that violence will be silent, protected, and not reported.
It has called for reforms and a completely different approach from the past in this matter.
Vulnerability in the family, in society, is very complicated, it is sensitive and very harmful. The disaster of all this is that it is carried out behind closed doors, remains unreported, without being addressed and treated in a transparent and more professional way possible... It's a shame to keep it quiet, shame is to protect a violence, not report it, and shame is to hide our wounds... We ask you to cooperate with all relevant institutions that fight this phenomenon... that the violence you're seeing every day... don't apply, but condemn... I request from you reforms, a completely different approach from the past”, Mikulovci said.
Meanwhile, Fatmir Syla, chief prosecutor for the Mitrovica region, stressed that domestic violence is a disturbing phenomenon for the fact that it is on the rise and has involved almost every port of life.
He mentioned figures, said that during September alone, the Mitrovica Prosecution has accepted 70 subjects dealing with this problem.
<x) Only last month have we as prosecutor accepted 70 subjects within a month, speak of the Mitrovica region that included Leposaviq municipalities, Zubin Potok, Zvecan, two Mitrovica, Vushtrri and Skenderaj, which is a very large number. For this reason, the Ministry of Justice, together with the State Chief Prosecutor's Office, have made a strategy in combating these negative phenomena. Each prosecutor has appointed by a co-ordinator for domestic violence cases in order to always be informed of cases that occur, their superiors and actions that need to be taken, Syla clarified.
Otherwise, brochures were distributed in the campaign, and other activities by police were also organised.
