Labour and Social Management Minister Skender Recica has met current working inspectors to support him on weekends, intensifying duties, inspecting and controlling conditions and security and health measures at work, with particular emphasis on the construction sector.
Minister Recica called on the labour inspectors to be persistent in implementing all security and health measures at work, precisely implementing all the measures that the power legislation regulates this area.
“I requested that they be uncompromous, as well as in co-operation with companies to increase the responsibility of employers and employers for raising awareness in applying and respecting all measures of defence and security at work”, the minister said.
In addition, Recica said that given the number of accidents, even fatalities, she asked the Labour Inspectorate in the coming days to increase the number of inspections in construction sites throughout Kosovo, especially in Pristina and cities where the construction sector is present.
I learned from inspectors that inspections were conducted only in Pristina at 244 construction sector companies. The Labour Inspectorate also requires greater co-operation by other institutions involved, as well as by citizens, with the aim of boosting awareness”, Recica said.
