Merkel's last visit coincides with February 2014, while Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah has gone to Berlin several times since.
Over the course of this visit, consultations will be held with representatives of each ministry, negotiating foreign and defence policies as well as regional issues, according to Merkel spokeswoman”, Foreign Affairs Ministry spokeswoman Martina Fietz stressed.
