A Kosovo government delegation, led by Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj, have held an official visit to Tirana.
The Kosovo government delegation has been hosted by Foreign Minister Ditmir Bushati and Economy and Finance Minister Arben Ahmetaj.
The joint meeting of two Albanian governments to be held in Pec next month has been discussed.
In his address, Deputy Prime Minister Limaj has asked the Albanian government to reconsider the issue of the road tax price once again because, according to him, it is unacceptable to place such high taxes on citizens and businesses. Limaj has also asked for the removal of the control scanner to Kosovo businesses going through Albania, which gives businesses additional costs.
“We're worried about putting a street tax price on Nation Street. Kosovo citizens have not expected the establishment of this fee, and we must jointly find a solution and overcome it. We also need to remove barriers that are hindering our businesses, such as the matter of scanner”, Limaj said among other things.
Representatives of the two governments have also agreed at this meeting on a series of agreements that will be signed at the next meeting of the two governments.
Thus, at the meeting to be held in Pec, the likelihood is to sign the agreement, which allows Kosovo a gateway to the port of Durres.
Also, the agreement on free movement of citizens around the border, the agreement on mutual recognition of patent drivers, the agreement on the removal of the Romang, then agreement on removing non-tariff barriers, and the establishment of a task force consisting of two governments that would discuss the issue of road fee and scanner.
Limaj has also asked the Albanian government to establish an office in Prizren for the continuation of products with origin from Kosovo and Albania.
Part of the Kosovo government's delegation to this meeting, except Limaj, were Deputy Prime Minister Dardan Gashi, Ministers Betush Gashi and Edrit Shala deputy ministers, Fatmir Gashi and Rexhep Kadriu, as well as Kosovo Customs Director Bahri Berisha.
