Kosovo deputies in Sofia: Serbia refraining from agreements

A Kosovo Assembly delegation in composition: Zenun Pajaziti, European Integration Commission member Time Kadriaj, deputy chairman of the Commission for Foreign Affairs and Glauk Konjufca, member of this commission, are participating in the Interparliamentary Conference on the theme: The transformation of the Western Balkan region a parliamentary perspective on the role and future of the EU accession process, which is currently being held in Sofia.

This interparliamentary conference is organised by the European Parliament and the National Assembly of the Republic of Bulgaria.

The conference has discussed the EU Summit, the Western Balkans, Sofia's agenda priorities, the Berlin Summit process and continued support of Western Balkan countries in the EU membership process, then the role of the national parliament and the European Parliament in strengthening the European perspective of these countries, the importance of interparmentary and regional co-operation, acceleration of reforms, etc.

European Integration Commission member Zenun Pajaziti, speaking on behalf of the Kosovo delegation, gave a description of the situation in the Republic of Kosovo regarding the European integration process, the visa liberalisation process and the role of the Assembly in the Kosovo membership process in the European Union. He also said that within the normalisation of relations between Kosovo and Serbia, the latter is not implementing the agreements reached, as well as criticising Serbian president's statements on the occasion of the visit to northern Kosovo.

All Western Balkan countries, European Parliament deputies and national parliaments of member states and Bulgaria's National Assembly participated in this conference.
