Currently, there are seven people in this center, but their numbers vary during the day.
The number of asylum seekers in Kosovo, this year has doubled.
According to Department of State Director Asylum and Migration at the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Valon Krasniqi has so far applied for asylum 302 people.
“We can say there's been an increase in asylum seekers this year and I believe over the past year. There was twice as much. For example, during 2017 there have been 147 asylum seekers' requests, while this year from January 1st until now, 302 persons have been seeking asylum in Kosovo”, he says.

According to Krasniqi, the largest number come from Syria, Afghanistan and Pakistan, due to the situation and the war trends, from which they come.
However, Kosovo is not seen as permanent residence.
“From our economic perspective are the ones that make Kosovo, or the entire region, not to be attractive here”, Krasniqi added.
Apart from housing, asylum seekers are offered services, such as health services, food, toilet packages, clothing, offering Albanian and computer courses.
The director of the Center for Asylum Research in Lipgur, Fitim Zariqi, points to the amount of daily spending for any asylum seekers.
In an answer given by the Directorate for Migration and Foreigners in the Kosovo Police, it becomes known that most of these people tend to enter Kosovo territory illegally.
According to statistics that we have the majority of them illegally enter the Republic of Kosovo by crossing the border illegally, and once they enter the uninhibited or illegal crossing of the border presents criminal acts under Kosovo's criminal legislation because of international protection, you did not raise any investigation of it, and you do not trade in measures like in cases of other border crossings illegally from other persons”, writes the Directorate for Migration and Foreign.
