The Council for Protection of Human Rights and Freedoms has reacted to the attack against Serb pilgrims in Istog's University, saying that preventing Serbian citizens from visiting their properties or religious cults is a violation of human rights and restricting freedom of movement and as such is unacceptable.
On 21 October, a group of Serbs currently living as displaced persons in Serbia organisedly visited the village of Studenica of this municipality, the monastery in this village, respectively, and during the visit met in opposition to Albanian residents.
Kosovo police detained 11 people and against the 6 detainees initiated public order violations procedures. During the opposition, some protesters threw stones toward the bus by breaking down some glass but there were no injuries among the travelers.
KMDLNj considers it unacceptable that almost 20 years after the end of the war in Kosovo, freedom of movement motivated on ethnic grounds is endangered, while encouraging displaced people to return to their property.
