Samantha Eastwood's body, 28, was found in a shallow tomb in Caverswall in August, about eight days after it disappeared.
Michael Stirling, 32, was found guilty of her murder when she appeared at the Northampton Court.
He was arrested in custody and sentenced at the Stafford Croa Court on 3 December.
Michael said the murder was caused after a long debate that made him very angry. According to him, the debate went to another level and put his hands to his throat by closing his mouth and nose, which brought Mom's immediate death.
Samantha was last seen in uniform leaving work at Royal Stoke University Hospital.
Her body was discovered on August 5th, wrapped in a blanket over her eyes and mouth.
Staffordshire police announced that further tests are being sought to confirm the cause of death.
