Health Minister Uran Ismaili has attended the table organised by the Columbus Institute, on the theme “Bethea between the list of wishes and needs of patients”.
This table discussed the process of reviewing the Esencial Bars List, which has not been done since 2012 and which the Ministry of Health has launched this year.
In his address, Minister Ismaili said this list should meet the needs of patients and hospitals rather than pharmaceutical companies.
The New Esential Bars List must meet the needs of patients and hospitals rather than be a list of the wishes and needs of any company. For this very important process to be accomplished on these standards, I have established the Technical Committee on Resiliating the Essencial List, which includes numerous acts and professionals, and will have the assistance of the World Health Organization at all times”, said the minister Ismaili.
Further, to avoid any conflict of interest, Minister Ismaili announced that they have invited the Anti-Corruption Agency.
This very important part of this process is the inclusion of the Anti-Corruption Agency. This agency was invited by us. They have been numerous expeditions and supporters to contribute and monitor at all times each step of this process, starting with the joint drafting of the decision, where the declaration of conflict of interest” is envisioned, he has said.
The final result is that products on the list will always be in the stocks of health institutions and in the service of patients ' needs.
A list of products that are essential is designed to meet the population's main needs and to be available and affordable.
