In a statement issued today, INTERPOL says “expects an official response from China authorities to address concerns about the well-being of President”.
INTERPOL also said he used the law enforcement channels to submit the request for information regarding Meng's status.
Meng's wife says she has not heard from him since he traveled from Lyons to China in September. France has launched an investigation into the case. French authorities say INTERPOL's president had flown and the plane he was traveling to China, but he still doesn't know about the 64-year-old location.
Meng is also deputy minister of Public Security in China.
