Serbia's aggressive play for attracting recognitions of the state of Kosovo poses a danger to Kosovo's security.
While the United States of America and the EU must come up with guiding principles in order to reach a stable agreement that eventually resolves Serbia's approach to Kosovo.
So has Ilir Deda, deputy of the Alternative, declared participants in the Security Forum that has been held in Belgrade.
He has announced that with diplomatic representatives he has been constantly discussing how a stable agreement can be reached between Kosovo and Serbia that does not destabilise the region.
In an interview for KosovoPress, Deda has stressed that it is Kosovo's independence that has enhanced stability in the Western Balkans. And for that, it has to tell Western countries politically that Kosovo's integration into the international community only increases regional security and stability.
We now have to reach a literal agreement, we need the transatlantic community, it means the United States and the European Union to come up with non-negotiable principles of dialogue, come up with the guiding principles of this process so that it can reach an agreement that is stable and once for all end the approach that exists to Kosovo today on the part of the Republic of Serbia. We need to reach agreements where Kosovo becomes an equal part of the international community and that our reports are predictable and that our actions not be seen by the threat of national security presmity”, he said.
He has been inviting seriousness, saying the government of Ramush Haradinaj is not doing work because he has no courage to admit publicly that the basis of the dialogue process is not right. Deda has expressed optimism that perhaps a new Government of Kosovo will do so.
Unfortunately, in Kosovo, there are many not competent people who do not notice Serbia's aggressive lobby for attracting recognition of the state of Kosovo is the same risk of Kosovo security. Maybe there's also much greater seriousness to the people who run our Government, because you can't say that I want to normalise the relationship here there are aggressive lobbies against Kosovo in Interpol, against the new recognitions, the withdrawal of recognitions that are only there. It means here something is wrong and I don't know why there's fear, why it's not publicly said by those who are the host of institutions that this base of the process is not right. You can't on one side say I want to normalise relations and act on the other in the most hostile way possible, more hostile of Russia towards Kosovo. But it seems to me that another Kosovo government will do this, because this is not doing this work”, he said.
He has also spoken on Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq's statements since yesterday in an answer to Kosovo Press has reiterated Belgrade's official stance that there will be no recognition of Kosovo's independence under international pressure.
Deda said more important are statements by senior representatives from Germany's Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Much more important... has been the high representative's statement from the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs concerning this process, in the panel I was in. She said Germany has said very clearly that there is no movement of borders and this should be the position of Kosovo”, he said.
By contrast, the Security Forum in Belgrade, while representatives from Kosovo are participating in numerous panels on the topic of Balkan security and Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.
