One of the biggest tobacco firms in the world, “Philip Morris” has recently been accused of hypocrisy, due to the new public campaign calling on smokers to give up.
American producer “Marlboro” announced that the movement was “a significant next step” in its target for “eventually to stop selling cigarettes”.
But, the organisation “Research on Cancer” (CRUK) said the signature in question is simply trying to promote its smoking alternatives, such as electronic cigarette.
The “looks like a hypocrisy game”, it says, stressing that the firm still promotes smoking outside Great Britain.
The best way Philip Morris can help people end smoking is to stop producing cigarettes”, said George Butterworth, tobacco policy manager at CRUK.

The charitable organization says that smoking promotes preventable cancer triggers, thus encouraging people to give up smoking altogether, including the use of electronic cigarettes.
In Great Britain, most forms of advertising or promotion of tobacco are prohibited, while rules introduced last year force cigarettes or packages to be sold in green packages.
“Philip Morris” has already indicated that it wants to move towards a future without smoking. And like many other tobacco firms, “Philip Morris” is shifting its focus towards new cigarette replacement products, as the number of double-crossers gets to Britain.
In the island's markets, <x0Philip Morris” sells several alternatives, including hot tobacco products, or the so-called “Iqos”, as well as “Nicog”, “Vavid” and “Mesh”, that all three of these latest electronic cigarette brands.
