Kosovo Deputy Prime Minister Fatmir Limaj has hosted the World Bank Chief for Kosovo meeting, Marco Mantovanelli.

The number two of Kosovo's government at the meeting with Mantovanelli has raised several topics such as empowering small and medium-sized enterprises, changing policies and grants into agriculture, as well as the issue of professional education of young people, suggests a report by Limaj's office.

Limaj has expressed disappointment with the division of grants into agriculture. Agriculture, according to him, is not developing in this form and that the situation is unchanged. Limaj says it's time to strengthen farmers.

We seek help from the World Bank to change the approach of grants to agriculture. We are not satisfied with these policies. No growth, agriculture is not developing. We have to change our farming policies. The situation is the same. It's time to strengthen farmers”, Limaj, World Bank chief for Kosovo, was quoted as saying.

Furthermore, Limaj has requested World Bank assistance in support of small- and medium-sized enterprises as well as local producers.

Limaj has voiced confidence that with a greater commitment to youth professional skills, the country's economy will move larger steps forward.
