Democratic League of Kosovo MP (LDK), Armend Zemaj, sees it urgent to hold new elections.

He has suggested that early elections are not only the demands of the opposition anymore, but Kosovo's state interest.

In an interview for the newspaper “The new era”, Zemaj, has said these institutions have lost popular legitimacy to run the country. There is now a full reason that these institutions have lost even the little legitimacy they have had. And the need to go to new elections is not only our demand, but also state interest”, Zemaj said.

He has indicated that due to the lack of legitimacy of these institutions, the LDK will not become part of the dialogue process with Serbia. According to him, only after new elections can it be talked about the final phase of the Kosovo-Serbia dialogue.

There can be no real dialogue without institutional stability. We like the LDK seek new legitimacy, which guarantees consensus, simultaneously correct reports with international partners who have supported Kosovo on its road to freedom and independence. We first demand to have confirmation of popular support and to take something that does not create confidence, as the current Government is claiming with certain kinds of groups, individuals and exiting legal responsibility that have”, Zemaj has indicated.

The LDK MP has also spoken of the way the opposition will follow to bring down Haradinaj Government.

Zemaj has suggested that, for this purpose, the opposition intends to have the support of some status deputies.

“Only with democratic forms, co-ordinated and other opposition groups and expanding the commitment to persuade other deputies who will emerge from the narrow political interest and create the possibility of embracing a decision that we think is in the general interest of Kosovo”, Zemaj has declared.
