Haxhiu during the regional anti-corruption conference has expressed concern for officials' jobs, which work in more than two or three jobs.
I expect the government to fulfil all pledges taken by international meetings. On behalf of the commission, I ask the agency to continue working against corruption. With the Law approved to prevent conflict of interest, the only issue that has not been addressed is the place of work for public officials. We have officials holding one, two or three jobs”, she said.
According to her, another problem is the lack of information on property abroad for senior officials.
A problem that Kosovo has and remains unaddressed is not having information about the wealth of senior officials abroad, namely outside Kosovo. There are many Kosovo officials who are at least thought to have assets abroad, but that as a lack of co-operation with sister-in-laws we have no information”, Haxhiu has said.
The Anti-Corruption Agency today has opened regional conference works against corruption, this two-day conference, attended by leaders of relevant institutions from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Italy, Croatia, Montenegro, Moldova, Turkey, representatives from regional and wider intergovernmental organisations (UNDOC, OECD, UNDP), international experts from the range of prevention and fighting corruption, as well as representatives of local institutions for order and law, and civil society organisations.
