Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj has met with new Minister of Internal Affairs Ekrem Mustafa today. He was nominated to this position several days ago, after preliminary minister Bejtush Gashi was dismissed from his position.
The focus of the meeting between the prime minister and the minister of home affairs was to see how much has been worked on fighting crime and corruption, visa liberalisation and Interpol membership -- jobs that are at the competence of MPB.
Haradinaj said he has found good co-ordination of jobs in the institution.
It was, like, three basic jobs. At the same time is fighting crime and preserving public order, but we have two more jobs to do, is Interpol and visa liberalisation because political changes have taken place, Minister Gashi has gone on to send Minister Mustafa. I'm here to talk, to clarify whether we covered every potential vacuum and whether there are mutual coordinates, from the political level in this case by Minister”, Haradinaj said.
Meanwhile for the Fund, which has been split for Interpol, Haradinaj said there is still no precise information about what to use, but according to him, citizens will know when the day comes.
When we report what they're using, we explain. Now I have no more information... The day comes to report”, Haradinaj said.
Meanwhile, regarding the Inter-institution Commission against violent extremism, Haradinaj said this commission was established as a security measure for Kosovo towards this phenomenon.
While new Minister of Internal Affairs Ekrem Mustafa said this was a working meeting and vowed to work on having good performance before Government and citizens.
If we leave things, as the prime minister said to do tomorrow, it means we've done nothing. I've also taken the duties of these responsibilities that tomorrow I will be in good performance and will be openly standing before the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo. At the same time, both the prime minister and the prime minister rewarded with jobs and successes at the Ministry of Interior Affairs”, Minister Mustafa said.
Ekrem Mustafa is third minister MPB has been formed since Haradinaj government. The first was Flamur Sefaj, who was fired from his party following the arrest of six Turkish citizens and their extradition to Turkey. Sefaj was followed by Bejtush Gashi, who has not been in this position for long. He was fired from AKR as stated because of poor performance. Mustafa is part of the AKR and comes from the Ferizaj municipality. /D. Morina/
