So stated Sylejman Klink, member of the National Council for Security and Health at work, a body that operates within the Ministry of Labour and Social Management in co-ordination with the Ministry of Health.
Klink says the problem for this phenomenon remains the small number of inspectors engaged by the Labour Inspectorate.
Unfortunately this is a very disturbing phenomenon, because compared to last year, the number of fatal accidents has increased greatly. We as the National Council for Security and Health at work are continuing our work as much as we have competence and capacity. We are currently making several visits to public and private companies recently to identify security and health problems at work”, he told Kalxo.com.
Klink has added that the Kosovo government should support the Labour Inspectorate, increasing the number of inspectors across the country.
It is urgent that the Government, Labour and Social Management Ministry strongly support the Labour Inspectorate, because with such a small number of inspectors cannot cover the entire territory of Kosovo”, he said.
Klink added that there is a lack of respect for legal provisions in all companies, but, according to him, private companies should be urgently equipped with safety and health regulations at work, pushing employees to use equipment for security.
The KNSP official stressed that he supports the protest against the deaths of workers in the workplace.
“should become sufficient sensibility of all the population for security and health at work. I am against this protest because not only officials and governments but also workers” must be conscious through it, Klink concluded.
According to the Labour Inspectorate, 73 reported cases of accidents at work have been recorded by the end of July this year.
Last Saturday, a worker died from an accident at his workplace in Pristina's “Arberia” neighbourhood.
Meanwhile, after those cases, on October 10th before the Government will be protest with the motto “Buildings are yours, life is our”.
