At the second session of this conference, the practices of several countries in the region and beyond how the declaration of property by senior public officials is regulated by law.
The policy specialist for public administration and anti-corruption at the UNDP Office in Istanbul, Irakli Kotishvili, has presented practices for the state of Ukraine and Georgia.
He is pointing to the property statement system, has said that over 1 million public officials are obliged to declare property.
Kotishvili added that online statements are more protected and practical than physical ones. To that end, the Ukrainian system is also based on electronic signatures. Speaking of Georgia's property statement management system, there have been many cases in false statements.
Meanwhile, Flori Karaj, inspector from the High Inspectorate of the Declaration of Riches and Conflict of Interests in Albania, has said that in Albania the property declaration is done by high and medium-level. In addition, the wealth declaration is made for spending more than $300,000.
As opposed to Kosovo's statement of property becoming physical, the declaration is made online in Albania.
Karaj also spoke of the result of this prosecution inspectorate but also the number of statements.
According to him, in 2017 alone, 6035 have declared wealth in Albania.
He has added that it has become possible to be taken to the prosecution body, in the prosecution body of over 262 prosecution officials. Also fined in administrative wrongdoing of between 2,000 and 10,000 euros over 1,000 and 700 officials.
