European Movement Secretary General for Serbia Suzana Grubjesic told Tanjug that the amendment was adopted as part of the solution within the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue in order to try to draw dialogue from the deadlock on which it is located.
Grubjesik says that following the adoption of the above-mentioned amendment, EP “la space and gave a chance to” within the draft Serbian Progress Report to lead to a comprehensive agreement that would be acceptable for both one and the other, as well as for the international community.
The account for border correction for the EP, however, is not complete. If the Brussels dialogue has fallen to a dead end, as it is developing, it is pragmatic and rational to seek another, as they say, creative resolution”, she said, adding that there should be no taboo themes in dialogue, nor the topic of border correction. Grubjesik agrees that correction is not mentioned in an exclusive way in the adopted amendment, but can be finalised by claims from the report on supporting dialogue and that any agreement can be accepted only if it mutually agrees and takes into account the stability of the region and international law.
Even though EP resolutions are not mandatory, according to Grubjesik, formal adoption of the amendment in question may have “jene”, as EP resolutions are cited, monitored and analysed.
This will certainly not go unnoticed, especially after being accepted by the EP rapporteur for Serbia and the EP rapporteur for Kosovo,” is expressed.
