The Intergovernmental Panel for Climate Change (IPCC) published a special report warning of consequences if this objective is not achieved, two months before the UN's next climate conference is held.
“Today we stressed again that the EU will continue to lead the path to global action in climate change”, Austrian Environment Minister Elisabeth Koestinger said. “The EU must play an essential role in this important issue”, the minister, whose country currently has the rotating EU presidency, stressed.
