At the meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Committee between the European Union and Kosovo, Minister of European Integration Donus Hoxha said the European integration process and full EU membership remains the government's priority, while the Stabilisation and Association Agreement constitutes the main pillar in this direction.
She voiced confidence that by the end of the year, the Government will manage to complete the action plan while expressing gratitude for representatives of the Stabilisation and Association Committee.
According to her, reforms are an integral part of Kosovo's consolidation. Pwtw, according to her, the government remains committed to realising the RA.
By implementing the reforms which the SAA requires, we are not only meeting the criteria for membership, but also accelerating this process. We are happy that the visa liberalisation process is on the verge of finalisation and we await the EU Council's positive decision so that eventually we Kosovars can join the citizens of Europe from Atlantic to Caucasus, enjoying the fundamental right of free movement. We as the Government are committed to further realising the ERA process in terms of the content of reforms and implementation of them”, Hoxha said.
But, EU representatives demand maximum commitment to fighting corruption.
European Commission Unit for Kosovo and Macedonia chief David Cullen said Kosovo's progress will be measured through implementation of legal documents and that it must be advanced on important issues.
There have been good developments in the region. As for the Pristina dialogue, Belgrade would encourage Kosovo authorities to use this moment as much as possible. Today's meeting is essential to prepare advice for the SAA. At the meeting of the Stabilisation and Association Council that will be held next year, we must see the dedication of all authorities in Kosovo to progress on the most important issues such as reform, rule of law, the fight against corruption and organised crime that should be absolute priority”, he said. /Periscopi/
