Rescue teams are waiting for the weather to calm down before their operations begin, local government official Alain Thirion has said, writes Euronews.
There are people stuck on the roof, we're going to have to use helicopters to evacuate them because we can't reach them by boat, given the water force, it's very dangerous”, he added.
Among the most affected areas are the villages of Conques-sur-Orbeel and Willardonnel, where water reached the level of windows on the first floor of the houses.
Authorities have urged residents not to use their cars because most roads are blocked by rain.
This disaster came after the Leslie storm hit parts of Portugal and Spain during this weekend.
